https://www.peertopeerquant.com/percentile-calculatorI made this tool that calculate your percentile rank vs all other Lending Club accounts. It uses the data Lending Club uses to generate their benchmark chart but instead of just seeing where you are on the chart it gives you an exact percentile rank.
The rank is calculated for all accounts and accounts with similar age (+/- 1 month).
Hopefully it is helpful for everyone. I'd love to see people's scores.
My Percentile Rank using your calculator. No Folio trading.
Number of notes is > 1,500
Most A, B, and C notes are within the past 2-3 months.
Doesn't LC's data ignore notes that were unloaded on Folio? There are _lots_ of people who sell off notes before they default.
It seems to me such calculations just compare yourself against the lazy... those who can't be bothered to actively manage their accounts. Therefore the results don't seem all that realistic.
By the way your calculator breaks if you enter >= 31 for the average age in months.
Good score Lascott.
I Folio trade by auto selling notes with FICO scores that have an "adverse" change. My note age is low due to having dumped a large portion of my portfolio (about 3/4) so I could try a new note selection scheme starting in December / January 2013. Current number of notes is 1,237.
That's a neat tool, I did pretty good on this one account. I had to say <30 months though and that account the average is at 35.5... that's an odd limitation
It is an odd limitation. But what's even more odd in my opinion is why Lending Club does not extend that chart to completion. In reality, if you ever intend to put your hands on that money again one day (you know, actually spend/use it), your portfolio ages will eventually become anywhere from 36-60 months [technically about 53 months to date (since May 2010)] and everywhere in between. But that data is not shown for those accounts. I, for one, would like to see it. Not that it's potentially some riveting nugget of secret data or that there are a lot of accounts of that age yet, but I'm interested nonetheless.
+1
My results:
Your Percentile:
vs All Accounts: 58
vs Similar Age Accounts: 80
Using this data:
Your Notes purchased on the Lending Club platform
Adjusted Net Annualized Return: 9.21% (This is adjusted figure for past due notes)
Weighted Average Interest Rate: 14.60%
Weighted Average Age of Portfolio: 17.8 mos
Number of Notes: 1,844
I sold some notes on Folio last year, but not any this year. Too time consuming for me. I am using Interest Radar to autoinvest this year.
vs. similar age accounts I got 78%. Very cool tool.
When clicking the LC "understanding your returns" button, the graphics for my accounts show returns at the top of the range but not detached from it. When using your tool the graphic shows my returns detached from the rest & at 97 & 99 percentile. Why does there "appear" to be such a substantial difference between yours & LC?
I have way more losses (-16.91% on 1126 notes) than gains on Folio, so this feel good chart is fun for me even though I know it isn't for real.
Your Percentile:
vs All Accounts: 99
vs Similar Age Accounts: 99
Age: 16.6 mos.
# of notes (not counting the 1126 solds): 6315 (4679 issued and current)
Your Percentile:
vs All Accounts: 87
vs Similar Age Accounts: 94
Pretty cool.
My Folio returns are 8% NAR based on FICO drops.
Maybe LC will give a handy JSON comparison tool for Folio and overall performance. When they do we will be sure to add a percentile tool for that too.
Re: Our model has a percentile score of 98 vs all accounts. And 92 vs accounts with the same age.
You may want to keep those those 2 number for each x.y
I've implemented some of your suggestions.
1) Percentile vs Similar Age and Similar WAIR
2) Chart dynamically generated (no longer static image)
3) See similar accounts (age & wair) on the chart
Appears to be working. Thanks.
