Title: Investment (Including In Funding)
Post by: rawraw on January 07, 2013, 11:00:00 PM
How is this calculated and what does it even measure?  LC says:

Investment: The amount you have invested in Notes, including funds committed to Notes associated to In Funding loans. This amount may be higher than your Deposits if you have reinvested proceeds from payments

But my investment amount is about 2x the amount of my deposit amount, although I've only received roughly 1/3rd of my deposited amount in payments so far.

If you sell notes on FolioFn and purchase new notes with the proceeds, LC counts that as a new investment without subtracting any value for the original notes.  I'm guessing that's what you're seeing - my "Invested" total is much more than the sum of my deposits and payments, making it essentially useless.

I'm in a Folio-only state and it shows $0.00 for Investment, if that helps ferret out some meaning...

LendingClub makes most of its money off of Origination Fees, 1% to 5% depending on loan grade.

So that "Invested" number lets LendingClub know how good of a customer YOU are.
