General Lending Club Discussion /
January 14, 2013, 11:00:00 PM
I complained last year how annoying LC was for filing taxes (For example, having to look at every statement to add up the total servicing fee).  They said they would look into ways to making it easier.

Yep and in a negative manner.

People prefer the higher interest rate notes, both for return and ease of selling on FolioFN without having to mark it down too much.

You portfolio doesn't seem too old -- what is the average age?  Not knocking your skills, just saying defaults are part of the game and they'll happen.

Investors - LC / Investment (Including In Funding)
January 07, 2013, 11:00:00 PM
How is this calculated and what does it even measure?  LC says:

Investment: The amount you have invested in Notes, including funds committed to Notes associated to In Funding loans. This amount may be higher than your Deposits if you have reinvested proceeds from payments

But my investment amount is about 2x the amount of my deposit amount, although I've only received roughly 1/3rd of my deposited amount in payments so far.

I've bought a three or four deeply discounted notes at $2.50 and received in excess of $50 in payments to test it.  Sadly, both Lendstats and NSR currently compute loss rates based on initial principal and not initial investment, so it screws up my loss estimates and ROI.

Sometimes when I have free time, I just sort FolioFN by highest discount and look at why they are being sold that way.  And there are a lot of deceased borrowers listed on the platform.  Scaling it is hard, since I don't know of a way to "search" the notes on each LC note.  But I think there is def. a chance of high returns, as I've done it on a very small scale.
